There are undoubtedly many issues and challenges to be addressed in West Africa, and one of the most critical is healthcare and wellness. West Africans have the lowest life expectancy as identified by the World Health Organization. The continent still suffers from various diseases which have been controlled or eradicated in advanced countries.
These diseases include malaria, tuberculosis, Ebola, and sexually transmitted disease. We believe the leading cause of such illnesses could be, but not limited to, the lack of medical equipment, inability to deal with preventative care (teenage pregnancies), emergency medical situations, sanitation, clean water, non-nutritious food, etc. especially in the rural and most impoverished areas. The lack of access to such basics increases the death rate among pregnant women, single parent, young children, and the elderly.
With the above statement and much other statistical information’s, it’s clear that the healthcare system in this continent needs improvement. For this reasons Give A Life Outreach for Restoration & Empowerment (GALORE INT’L) aim to help with the buildings of free or very affordable mini-clinics in the most impoverished society in West Africa, and our current focus is Sierra Leone. We hope and believe that with your financial donation and continued support, we can make a big difference in these communities and the lives of families and individuals. Knowing that there’s a high potential for better healthcare in Sierra Leone and West African as a whole, we look forward to bettering healthcare for the future of these Nations. Therefore, we strive to make it a reality.
